The Time Traveler’s Wife (2022—)

The time traveler’s wife is based on an extremely strange concept: a man (Theo James) spontaneously jumps back and forth through time – without taking his clothes with him. In other words, he ends up naked in front of oncoming trains, in the middle of the street and in the woods where he meets his future wife (Rose Leslie). Based on the popular novel by Audrey Niffenegger, which launched the 2009 film, Time Traveler’s Woman will satisfy book fans and entertain those who are able to get through the embarrassment factor. Fans of Dr. Who note that Steven Moffat wrote the series, bringing his recognizable wit and complexity to time travel.

At this stage, it may be difficult to reach new fans when it comes to this long-running British show. But if you’re interested in immersing yourself in a wildly inventive adventure that changes genres, try the later episodes of Jodie Whittaker. Whittaker enters Doctor’s Shoes, an alien adventurer who travels through time and travels into space, with a kind heart and a sense of humor that is far from this world. Serious fun.

Alice in Wonderland meets an awful lot of robots. A truly amazing science fiction western may start in complex circles by the third season, but his first exciting season broke the barn door. Located in a violent and creepy amusement park, where rich guests can shoot, kill and harass android hosts in various ways, the focus has shifted to Dolores, a host who is starting to become sensible. No, she’s not happy with the way she’s been treated. Infectious and thought-provoking, Westworld requires you to grasp the pieces of his puzzle.

Interested person (2011-2016)

The series focuses on a piece of Precog-style technology used by the government to predict terrorist attacks. However, the machine can warn of minor but still deadly crimes, and a separate team of underground investigators has set out to help connected people of interest. Dealing with cunning issues such as the concept of “greater good”, the person of interest is a fascinating, spectacular and complete espionage procedure.

HBO’s first Norwegian series is an addictive sci-fi crime drama with the strangest pair of detectives you can imagine. Senior Detective Lars joins forces with Viking-era Alfhildra recruits to investigate the murder of a Stone Age woman. Oh, right – the series is set in Oslo where migrants, or “Beforeigners”, from the Viking Age and more are appearing nowadays. With plenty of fertile ground for out-of-water fish comedies, Beforeigners is a unique murder mystery.

What would you do if your husband implanted a chip in your brain to track your every move? Hazel Green (Cristin Milotti) faces this dilemma and immediately runs away with the not very helpful help of his father (Ray Romano). Go through the tricky territory of this satirical drama about the relationship with the edge of the Black Mirror and the service dolphin. Yes, Made for Love is full of surprises as well as disturbing.

Warner Bros. Television

An influential inherited show, Babylon 5 may be outdated nowadays, but it would be blasphemous to ignore it on this list. The basic premise sees a group of humans and alien species working together on the Babylon 5 space station as the Earth carves its place in the galactic community. Political intrigue, character studies, and war threats follow.

Believe in any commercial you hear about Station Eleven. One of the best shows of 2021, a meditative dystopian thriller (the latter descriptor can only be applied to certain episodes) is a prestigious TV that takes you on a journey to surprising, moving and unique destinations. Following the two timelines, the focus is mostly on the brilliant heroine Kirsten (Mackenzie Davis), a woman who survived a pandemic that destroyed the world and now travels around the remnants with a theatrical troupe known as the Traveling Symphony. Created by Patrick Somerville, whose work on The Leftovers can be felt here, Station Eleven throws an optimistic lens at the end of the world.

Although it is 90% of shows about superheroes, Peacemaker represents visitors from another planet, so it is on the list. The “Suicide Squad” series is at the heart of the title Peacemaker, the infamous John the Son who explores where his phrase – “I value peace with all my heart. I don’t care how many men, women and children I kill to get it” – came from. Obsessive, bloody and bouncing with shocking music, the series written by James Gunn is an exciting time with a surprising heart.

Of course, it’s best to catch Snowpiercer, a 2013 sci-fi action film directed by Bong Joon-ho, but the TV adaptation offers a few great extras. One of them is Melanie Cavill Jennifer Carpenter, head of the hospitality department on a constantly moving luxury train that keeps its passengers safe from the frozen desolation the world has become. Yet this small part of humanity cannot escape class struggles, lower chariots being built towards revolution. An exceptional story that works on the big and small screen.
