You used to be able to get everything you needed for your new iPhone – a power adapter, USB cable and a pair of wired EarPod headphones – right in the box when you bought it. Unfortunately, those days are over. TheThe release of the series changed all that. It was the first model in the line that did not include in the box, instead it only comes with a . And the latest the models met the same fate. The lightning cable is still very useful. It offers the highest charging speeds when paired with a real Apple iPhone charger, but you’ll still need a wall adapter to charge from the outlet. If you are looking for a quality charger, whether you are looking for an iPhone 12 charger or an iPhone 13 charger, this list will guide you to the best iPhone charger for your needs.
Apple’sit sells for just over $ 16, which is about $ 13 less than its overpriced 18W USB-C power adapter which has been discontinued. But a few attractive alternatives can be considered among the best chargers for the iPhone. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite Apple device chargers to extend your battery life. Here are some quick basic rules before we get started:
- You will need a charger with a USB-C port or you will need to get a charger . You can also get a new charger for your Apple product at the prices below.
- Chargers that support USB-C or PD (power supply) can generally charge devices faster than chargers with USB-A ports.
- Two ports are always better than one, allowing you to charge two phones at once, or a phone and accessories like wireless headphones.
- Higher power is somewhat better. But getting 18 watts or more will allow you to charge tablets and even . Get 65 watts or more and you can charge most newer laptops as well.
- Many of these new chargers use a new, fast semiconductor material called gallium nitride, called GaN, which replaces the old, slow, silicon chip. GaNFast chargers have a charging speed up to three times faster than traditional chargers – and are half the size and weight. They are compatible with everything in today’s range of Apple, from the AirPod and iPhone 12 to the large 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, they may not be optimal for the older iPhone model.
- Any charger here can also charge an Android phone (as long as you have a compatible charging cable or USB cable) as well as a Nintendo Switch.

The Anker Nano II 30W is a new generation fast charger with gallium nitride (GaN II) technology. It is approximately the same size as the original 20W Nano charger, but provides faster charging power. The Nano II will not only charge your phone but also your MacBook Air, iPad and other Apple devices. Anker also sells 45 and 65 W chargers. Read our first look at Anker Nano II chargers.

Anker’s Nano is literally the size of Apple’s old 5-watt USB charger that came with iPhones, but offers a 20-watt charge. With Anker’s PowerIQ 3.0 technology, it charges more than 2.5x faster than that 5-watt charger (with USB-C-to-Lightning cable). It was recently upgraded from 18 to 20 watts. It will occasionally drop to less than $ 14 with the current 20% coupon on Amazon.
The GaNFast charger, Spigen’s 20-watt ArcStation Pro is one of the smallest USB-C fast chargers you’ll find. Although the Anker Nano is a bit smaller, it doesn’t have a foldable plug like this model. Using a USB-C-to-Lightning cable, it charges almost three times faster than Apple’s standard 5-watt USB charger.
This charger with two 30 W ports delivers a full 30 W of juice if used alone and 18 W if used while the other device is charging via a USB-A port, which delivers 12 W of charging. Usually $ 31, includes USB-C to Lightning cable. It is also a GaNFast charger.
This slim 30W Anchor charger with foldable plugs is pocket-friendly and can charge your iPhone impressively fast with a USB-C-to-Lighting cable. Like many other compact chargers, this one uses gallium nitride (or GaN) technology.
I originally had an Aukey cigarette lighter adapter on this list, but it’s out of stock, and this low-profile Ainope mini fast USB car charger offers even faster charging (up to 24 watts) and costs less. It has both a USB-C and a USB-A port so you can charge two devices at the same time, but to get 15W wireless charging, you’d better charge one device.

Yes, a 100 W charger is too much to charge your phone. But if you want a charger that can charge any USB-C laptop, including a 16-inch MacBook Pro (which happens to be my work computer), the new Baseus 100W GaN II fast charger with Qualcomm Quick Charge 5.0 is the latest and greatest USB-C charger for fast charging high power. As its name suggests, it has GaN II technology. And it’s significantly smaller than earlier 100W chargers and more energy efficient, so it doesn’t heat up as much. It adapts to any device you are charging, providing the highest charging speed that the device is capable of.

Nimble is working to make its products from recycled plastic without plastic in its packaging. Its Wally Mini is a 20-watt two-port PD charger with fast charging capability. You can charge two devices at once, but to achieve the highest charging speed for your iPhone, you’ll need to connect it with a USB-C-to-Lightning cable (to a USB-C port) without connecting other devices to the USB-A port.
It has retractable teeth, is quite compact and is also quite light. If you didn’t know it was made from recycled plastic, you might not have guessed it was. But since I knew, I thought, “Yeah, this is like recycled plastic.” Not that it’s bad, but it looks and feels a little different.
Nimble also includes a bag in a box for your e-waste items. If your old electronic product is on Nimble’s list of approved recycling electronics, you can print a free shipping label and send your recycling equipment.
No, this isn’t a fancy new MagSafe charger – but it doesn’t cost $ 60. I like this RAVPower charging pad because it is relatively inexpensive and comes with a power adapter that allows you to achieve higher wireless charging speeds of 10 watts (some reach a maximum power of 7.5 watts and many cheap wireless charging pads do not include an adapter for power supply). It is listed for $ 30, but there is currently a 30% discount code that lowers the price to $ 21.
Another good choice in the category of the best comprehensive wall chargers is the RAVPower charger with two 65-watt connectors. It is very similar to Aukey and often costs within a few dollars of the same price. RAVPower currently has a 25% discount code that lowers the price to $ 29. This is also a GaNFast charger.
Why wear both a power adapter and a portable battery when you can have both in one device? We loved the earlier version of this model, and now it’s back with USB-A and USB-C ports, up to 18 watts. Yes, it is bigger and heavier than most power adapters on this list, because it has that integrated battery.
Another GaNFast charge, this compact 65-watt USB-C charger will not only charge your iPhone at maximum speed (if you opt for a USB-C-to-Lightning cable), but also charges most laptops that charge via USB-C . Additionally, you can charge another device via the USB-A port.
This Aukey Power Bank has wired and wireless charging options. If you use a USB-C port, you can get 18 watts of charging. Switch to wireless and place your phone on a rechargeable battery and it will charge wirelessly at 10 watts, which is where the iPhone currently has the maximum for wireless charging. You pay a premium, but this phone charger has a huge battery (20,000 mAh), a built-in stand and a digital reading with a list of remaining charges. It comes with a USB-A-to-USB-C cable, but you’ll need to get a charging adapter.
Aukey’s smaller 10,000 mAh portable wireless charger with foldable stand sells for about $ 40.
Looking for a compact fast charger with one port? The 20 W Aukey Minima PD charger is good for that, if you can find it.
