Germany promises India 10 billion euros for climate finance

India and Germany have agreed to expand cooperation on sustainable development. Germany has pledged 10 billion euros for a number of sustainability projects, including an ambitious renewable energy transfer project in northern India. Germany is also providing financial assistance to India for the Green Energy Corridor Program – a long-term initiative to develop a network of transmission projects for renewable energy projects.

Waaree Energies buy bankrupt solar cell manufacturer Indosolar

One of India’s leading solar cell and module manufacturers, Waaree Energies, has received approval to purchase Indosolar, a bankrupt solar cell manufacturer. With this acquisition, Waaree will increase its solar cell production capacity from 4 gigawatts to 5.4 gigawatts.

Shell plans to acquire Sprng Energy for $ 1.55 billion

Shell has signed a deal with Actis to buy a 100% stake in Sprng Energy, India’s renewable energy developer. Sprng has an installed portfolio of 2.1 gigawatts and an additional 8.3 gigawatts in development. This will be Shell’s third major acquisition in India’s renewable energy sector. He owns stakes in Husk Power Systems and Cleantech Solar.

Acme is planning a 7 Gigawatt Green Amonia Facility in Tamil Nadu

Acme Solar Holdings plans to set up 7 gigawatts of renewable energy and green ammonia production facilities in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The venture is expected to involve a $ 6 billion investment. ‌Acme is already working on a the Ammonia Green Project in Oman. The company is working with Swedish Scatec ASA on a 50:50 joint venture. According to Acme, the project is expected to produce 100,000 tons of green ammonia each year in the first phase. This will eventually increase to 1.2 million with 3.5 gigawatts of electrolyzers and 5 gigawatts (peak) of solar energy capacity.

ReNew Power Plans Investment of Rs 500 billion in storage of batteries, green hydrogen plants

ReNew Power has signed a contract with the Karnataka state government to invest about Rs 500 billion ($ 6.4 billion) in setting up renewable energy projects and production facilities to store batteries and green hydrogen. The company intends to make this investment in the next seven years.

JSW Energy will buy wind farm developer Mytrah Energy

A subsidiary of Indian conglomerate JSW Group has signed an exclusive deal to buy Mytrah Energy, a wind turbine developer based in southern India. The value of the company in this business is estimated at around 2 billion dollars. JSW Energy is striving to aggressively expand its renewable energy capacity.

Reliance Industries is planning 100 gigawatts of solar energy

One of India’s largest conglomerates, Reliance Industries, reportedly plans to raise enough land to install 100 gigawatts of solar energy. The company is looking for land in the western state of Gujarat where it had an oil refinery. According to media reports, the company could consume a quarter of the energy produced from the planned solar capacity, and the rest could be sold to other industries.

290 megawatts of floating solar auction at auction in Central Indian Dam

Three companies – AMP Solar and the state-owned NHDC and SJVN – have secured rights to develop floating solar projects at the Omkareshwar Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh. 600 megawatts were offered in the tender, but only 290 megawatts were awarded in the end. The companies submitted bids ranging from 3.21 to 3.26 dinars per kilowatt-hour.

Hindustan Salts is offering land for a 1 gigawatt solar energy project

The state-owned company Hindustan Salts has announced a tender seeking bids from those developing land-based solar energy projects. 5,000 hectares of land will be able to support the development of a capacity of 1 gigawatt of solar energy. There are no restrictions on the sale of electricity produced from the project, and the developer is free to explore all revenue opportunities.

Tata Power Solar wins 300 megawatt order

Solar EPC subsidiary Tata Power has announced that it has received an order to develop a 300-megawatt solar energy project from the state-owned NHPC. The contract is worth 17.3 billion dinars. The project must be completed within 18 months and is expected to produce 750 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. Tata Power Solar Systems currently has an outstanding order book of Rs 135 billion.

Adani is giving 390 megawatts of solar-wind project

One of India’s leading renewable energy companies, Adani Green Energy, has commissioned a 390-megawatt hybrid solar wind project in the western state of Rajasthan. The company secured this project through a competitive auction organized by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The company will supply SECI with electricity for 25 years at a rate of 2.69 Rs (3.5 US () per kilowatt-hour. With this project, Adani’s operating capacity reached 5.8 gigawatts with a total portfolio of 20.4 gigawatts.

ReNew Power is expanding its portfolio by over 700 megawatts

India-based ReNew Power, listing Nasdaq, has announced that it has signed definitive contracts to purchase 527 megawatts of wind and solar operating projects. The projects are distributed in eight countries. The company also received a 200-megawatt solar project from a distribution company in the state of Maharashtra. This project is expected to be launched by the end of 2024. ReNew’s total portfolio is now 12.8 gigawatts.

Greenko is launching a 5.23 gigawatt pumping hydropower project

Greenko Energy Holdings has announced the start of construction work on a 5.23 gigawatt pumped storage project. The storage project will integrate 3 gigawatts of solar and 550 megawatts of wind energy. The project is being developed in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The company has an operating capacity of renewable energy of 7.5 gigawatts and another 10 gigawatts in development.

Tata Power is testing a 100-megawatt solar project in Maharashtra

Tata Power Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has launched a 100 megawatt solar energy project in the western state of Maharashtra. The project was awarded to Tati through a competitive auction. The project is expected to recoup 234,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

Tata Motors will expand India’s largest umbrella solar energy project

One of India’s leading carmakers, Tata Motors, has announced it will expand its existing 10-megawatt rooftop solar power capacity by 7 megawatts. The company will establish this capacity at its Puna plant. The project is being developed by the Tata Power group of companies. With this new project, Tata Motor Pune will have the largest Indian umbrella solar project in one factory.

India plans 30 gigawatts of offshore wind power by 2030.

India’s Minister for New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh, has announced that the country will have 30 gigawatts of offshore wind farms by the end of this decade. India has been considering setting up offshore wind farms for several years, but has not taken any concrete steps to do so. The government is expected to announce tenders soon.
