If you want to lose weight, low-carb, high-protein meals are the best way to do it. Of course, this means that you have to do a lot of planning when it comes to food preparation. Meal delivery services can take care of that though. There are also a number of great keto-friendly meal delivery options. These services can help you start a new diet and weight loss journey.
Keto living generally means reducing or eliminating carbs from your diet, which isn’t easy, but can be made easier by getting one of these delicious low-carb keto meal delivery services to send you protein-packed meals to pop in your fridge or freezer. It will remove all that annoying temptation and help you finally achieve a low carb diet in 2022. Finding a great keto meal delivery service can take a lot of trial and error: Trust me, not all of them are good. Heck, not all of them are even edible. If you want to know the best keto meal delivery subscriptions, stick with me as I’ve tried all the top contenders. From paleo-friendly to plant-based, I’ve tested and tried to find the absolute best keto meal delivery in 2022.
The keto diet plan remains as popular as any known for quick results (and all-you-can-eat bacon), and that means plenty of low-carb and no-carb options. By subscribing to one of these services, you can get acquainted with some new recipes. Since most of them can be frozen, they will work with unpredictable schedules. You’ll get fresh or frozen meals delivered to your door when there’s no time to cook.
But I mean it when I say that some of the keto meals you get in the mail are practically inedible. So be careful and keep reading.
What is the keto diet?
Keto (short for ketogenic) began as a fad diet decades ago, when it was commonly called the Atkins Plan or the South Beach Diet. People are drawn to keto and other low-carb programs for many reasons, such as wanting to limit total carbohydrates for weight loss or to increase protein intake to help build muscle or for training purposes. And many delivery services now cater to the keto diet. In fact, some of the most popular meal kit services, includingand , have low-carb meal plans with as many as eight or nine keto menu options to choose from each week. If you don’t want to cook at all, there are several meal delivery services that will deliver pre-made keto and paleo meals via a weekly subscription or one-time order.
What are the different types of keto meal delivery?
However, not all low-carb meals are created equal, so I tried a few of the most popular keto plans to separate the delicious meals from the tragic ones. Whether you’re trying to eat keto and organic, or you’re interested in low-carb versions of comfort food classics made with fresh ingredients, there’s a healthy, customized meal delivery service for you. There are also paleo-friendly meal services that can work for the keto diet and keto meal plans with lots of vegetarian options, although this is trickier to figure out since meat is the most obvious source of protein. After trying all the keto meal kits on this list — and more, I might add — I’ve determined the best keto meal delivery to keep your low-carb lifestyle in good shape while allowing you to enjoy more from just grilled chicken and vegetables.
And if you’re not sure whether to try a keto meal service or aren’t thrilled with the commitment of a subscription, know that all of these companies allow you to pause or cancel your meal plan at any time. Some offer a one-time order to avoid a subscription altogether. Many of these services also have tempting trial discounts and sign-up offers for new users, so there’s not much difference between you and some affordable keto options.
I will continue to update this list periodically as I try new keto-friendly meal delivery services.
Fresh N’ Lean
Yes, grammarians will tell you it should be “Fresh ‘n’ Lean”. But if you can get past that missing apostrophe, I can tell you this: Fresh n’ Lean is the best keto meal delivery service I’ve tried. Period. Not only was the healthy food well prepared, but it looked delicious and wasn’t overly expensive. For those looking for low-carb diet meals with plenty of protein and healthy fats, Fresh n’ Lean offers keto meal plans, and the food was just as good.
However, you don’t have to just eat keto with this service. With Fresh n’ Lean, you can choose either a standard low-carb meal plan or a vegan low-carb meal plan and choose from as many as 13 meals per week. Some of the creative keto-friendly entrees you’ll find with this meal service include almond-crusted cod over cherry tomatoes and olives, tender beef stroganoff with mushrooms and asparagus, or bean-free chili con carne with cauliflower.
Prices for Fresh n’ Lean keto plans start at around $10 per meal. If it’s delicious, high-quality, low-carb food for your ketogenic diet you’re looking for, Fresh n’ Lean is my clear choice.
Keto meals per week: 15
Fresh n’ Lean prices: Meals are between $10 and $16 depending on the plan.
If you want to make keto dinners at home, Home Chef has the most flexible meal kits of any service I’ve tried, making it a great choice for low-carb keto dieters.
Home Chef’s Carb Conscious meal plan starts at around $9 per serving and you’ll have as many as seven meals to choose from each week for the standard plan, plus a few Culinary Collection meals you can add on for an additional cost. Most of Home Chef’s meals are healthy and hearty, but not overly complicated, and some of his keto recipes take as little as 25 minutes to cook.
One great feature that Home Chef offers is that you can swap out or double the protein in any meal, and since keto followers are all about that protein, it makes finding the right low-carb meals each week that much easier. As if that weren’t enough, Home Chef also has options for keto-friendly oven meals, like sesame chicken and cilantro lime broccoli, that require almost no chopping or preparation. Just assemble the ingredients in the included baking dish and prepare fresh keto meals 30 or 40 minutes later.
Keto-friendly meals per week: 7 standard (plus 3 to 4 premium meals)
Home chef prices: Meal plans start at $9 per serving. Two meals for two people cost about $36 per week, plus $10 shipping.

Green Chef is one of the healthiest meal kit delivery services and caters to a range of designer diets, including a keto meal plan for people looking to cut back on carbs. With a Green Chef meal kit subscription, you’ll find creative keto meals like creamy chicken alfredo with spaghetti squash noodles or za’atar spiced fried cheese over cauliflower couscous.
These inventive recipes combined with Green Chef’s high-quality, mostly organic ingredients make for a premium price. Keto or Paleo meal plans start at around $12 per serving when you order four meal kits per week with four or more servings per meal. Order fewer meals and things get even more expensive, but if you’re looking to prepare low-carb meals at home and eating organic is important to you, Green Chef is your best bet for a delicious keto meal.
Keto-friendly meal sets per week: 9
Green Chef prices: Keto and Paleo meal packages are approximately $13 per serving.

Fresh n’ Lean
Fresh n’ Lean also falls into this category and is the only service I’ve liked with a low carb vegan meal plan. You’ll be able to choose from low-carb plant-based meals, including vegetable bolognese, cream of broccoli soup, and vegetable chimichurri.
To be honest, if I were vegan and trying to eat keto (not an easy task), I’d probably do a lot of cooking at home because the meal delivery options are a bit slim, but if you’re craving some easy meal delivery, give Fresh n’ Lean a crack.
Prices for Fresh n’ Lean vegan keto plans start at around $10.66 per meal. If it’s delicious, high-quality, low-carb food for your ketogenic diet you’re looking for, Fresh n’ Lean is my clear choice.
Paleo and keto diets have a lot in common, but there are also some important differences. If you’re more inclined to stick to a paleo plan that allows for healthy foods that can be high in carbs, like carrots and sweet potatoes, then I’d recommend Pete’s Paleo. You can still order plenty of low-carb, keto-friendly meals through Pete’s Paleo, but that’s not the foundational meal plan for this meal delivery service.
I tried a few healthy options of the service packed with protein and healthy fats and was thoroughly impressed. The slow-cooked pork shoulder with sweet potatoes and celery was tender and tasted great. Another winner was a moist Mediterranean dinner of chicken thighs with salted olives, served with spaghetti and cauliflower. This is definitely thoughtfully prepared and healthy food made with quality paleo-friendly ingredients.
Keto/Paleo meals per week: 20-25
Prices: Pricing is a bit complicated and you have several options, including a one-time order of 10 a la carte meals for $121 with Pete’s Keto Package, though it’s currently sold out. It seems to be the most cost-effective option, but you can subscribe and get five meals for $98, 10 meals for $191, or 14 meals for $251.
FreshlyFit is a healthier offshoot of the popular meal delivery service Freshly — which I also recently reviewed. FreshlyFit features delicious keto and paleo meals available for just $9 per meal when you order 12 meals per week. Even a meal plan with just six meals a week is still less than $10 per meal, making FreshlyFit a great choice for anyone looking for healthy keto meals that are delivered on a regular basis.
While I haven’t loved everything I’ve tried from FreshlyFit’s keto plan, most of the meals have been pretty solid. You’ll find keto versions of comfort foods like shepherd’s pie with cauliflower mash. I also had a very tasty chicken with pesto cream sauce and mushrooms and a bison burger with sauteed vegetables which I enjoyed.
One thing to love about FreshlyFit is the rotating menu of 23 keto-friendly meals to choose from each week that should keep you from getting bored. Note that steak and other beef entrees generally have an additional cost of $2 to $3 per meal.
Keto-friendly meals per week: 23
FreshlyFit prices: Plans start at around $9 per meal.
I’ve tried other keto meal delivery services
: This healthy meal service did well in the taste test, but was similar to Fresh N’ Lean in both price and style. Fresh N’ Lean was just, well, better. Factor — sometimes called Factor75 — is priced between $11 and $15 per meal depending on how many meals you choose. Read mine in full .
: The portions from this meal delivery service were too small for how expensive they are — as much as $15 a meal — but they tasted good. If you’re looking for serious portion control for weight loss and cutting calories, this could be a good option. Otherwise, it doesn’t seem worth the money.
: These frozen keto meals were some of the worst I have tried and I would not recommend the service.
