San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is happening right now, which means news, trailers and teasers for upcoming movies, TV shows, games, toys and more. It’s been huge so far, two new Avengers movies have been announced!
Here’s a selection of highlights, as we pick some of the best stuff to inject into your eyes straight from SDCC 2022. We’ll continue to add more as the panels unfold over the weekend.
Marvel Phase 5 Revealed
One of the biggest news from Marvel’s big Hall H panel:! Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sends off Phase 4, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is officially the first film of Phase 5.
There is a whole range of interesting information in that one picture. Perhaps most importantly: the new Daredevil! Blade release date!

Marvel announces two new Avengers movies
It looks like Marvel is trying to repeat the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame trick. Marvel has also announced that it will not.
There’s Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both are part of Marvel Phase 6. Everyone just needs to relax and give us time to breathe this in. The whole thing (ie Phases 4, 5 and 6) is already called The Multiverse Saga.
Guys, this is a lot.
Additionally, the Fantastic Four are also part of this new Phase 6.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
We have our own. Luckily, unlike several other trailers, we actually got to see this one!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer was shown, but only people at the Marvel Hall H panel could see it. The big news seems to be the focus on Rocket. The internet is already going wild over “Baby Rocket” appearing in the trailer, which seems to suggest that we’re getting a bit of Rocket’s backstory in the new film.
We’ve got a brand new trailer for a show we’re pretty excited about — She-Hulk: The Lawyer.
The big thing that everyone seems super excited about at the moment is the appearance of Daredevil.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
In front of the big Marvel Hall H panel, we got an early look at the illustrated poster for the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Does that mean we’ll potentially see the movie early today? Potentially. But this movie doesn’t come out until February next year. Still, here’s hope!
A trailer was shown at the event, but unfortunately only people who attended the show could see it. But look, this is really funny.
Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s legendary fantasy comic series arrives on August 5, and the streaming service generated excitement by dropping a new trailer on Saturday.
Star Trek: Picard
A whole bunch of Star Trek: The Next Generation favorites will appear in the third and final season of Picard, which got its trailer on Saturday. It will air on Paramount Plus in 2023.
Star Trek: Lower Decks
The trailer hinted at what the crew of the USS Cerritos will be up to in Season 3 of the animated series, which premieres on Paramount Plus on August 25. We’re also getting a crossover episode in season 2 of the live-action Strange New Worlds, which is expected to start in 2023.
Black Adam brings DC anti-hero action to theaters on October 21 andhinted at the moral choices Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character will face in the film.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods
Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the sequel to 2019’s Shazam, will bring more magical superhero action to theaters on December 21.during Saturday’s Warner Bros. panel, revealing Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as a pair of very formidable villains.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power begins on Amazon Prime Video on September 2 andgave us another taste of the prequel show. The series is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth and it sure sounds like the big bad Sauron is aiming to spread darkness across the land.
Trailer Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Chris Pine is a scheming, lute-playing bard, Michelle Rodriguez is a barbarian, Bridgerton and The Gray Man’s Regé-Jean Page is a warrior, Justice Smith is a mage, and Sophia Lillis is a shape-shifting druid. They pull off a heist in a fantasy adventure that looks like a lot of fun, along with classic D&D creatures like dragons, displacement beasts, a mime, Owl Bear, and Hugh Grant.
Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur clip art
This fun Marvel animated series features crazy voices, announced at SDCC: Alison Brie, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke (from Stranger Things), Jennifer Hudson, Cobie Smulders, Craig Robinson, Indya Moore, May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Method Man (!), Wesley Snipes (!!) and astronaut dr. Mae Jemison (!!!). Laurence Fishburne also stars, who was also involved in the creation of the entire project. Coming to Disney Channel and Disney Plus in 2023, the animated series stars Diamond White as Lunella Lafayette, a 13-year-old super-genius who’s partnered with, well, a dinosaur.
Gotham Knights Batgirl trailer
Batman spinoff game Gotham Knights is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. In the game, you play as Batman’s sidekicks Nightwing, or Batgirl, and at SDCC a new trailer focuses on the latter, aka Barbara Gordon. In-game footage and cut-scenes show the purple and yellow-clad crime fighter showing off his combat skills, weapons and glider cape on the mean streets of Gotham.

X-Men ’97 release date
Marvel is animatedwill air on Disney Plus in Fall 2023.
Spider-Man: Freshman Year release date
I don’t know if you’ve heard of this Spider-Man character, but apparently he deserves his own animated series.streams, elsewhere, on Disney Plus in 2024.
What if…? season 2 release date
Marvel animated series. The first series set up elements of the multiverse that have proven important in recent MCU films, so maybe season 2 will be a training ground for more cool MCU stuff.
Marvel Zombies release date
Speaking of What If…?, one of the episodes took us to a branch of the MCU multiverse dominated by the undead. It expands into a whole— but not until 2024.
Teen Wolf: The Movie trailer
When the moon is full, Teen Wolf transforms from a movie, to a TV show, and then back to a movie. Streaming service Paramount Plus has shown a new trailer for the film, which reunites the cast from the 2011 TV show, including Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed and Tyler “Superman” Hoechlin. They appeared in 6 seasons of lycanthropic adventures based on the 1980s Michael J Fox film, and now they’re adding shadow ninjas and more supernatural action.
National Treasure: The Edge of History
This Disney Plus TV reboot of the family adventure treasure hunt is missing Nicolas Cage, but will feature Harvey Keitel and Justin Bartha. The teaser introduces Lisette Olivera as a new generation Tomb Raider, sorry, national treasure hunter.
The new Predator movie was shown to audiences at SDCC ahead of its August 5 streaming on Hulu (in the US) and Disney Plus elsewhere.
Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head
Streamer Paramount Plus also revealed a clip from the reboot of ’90s era-defining metallers Beavis and Butt-Head, which premieres on August 4.
The Wheel of Time Season 3
Amazon Prime Video has renewed fantastic series, based on the books by Robert Jordan, already had a third season before the second season even started. Amazon also announced a series of short films leading up to the second season.
SDCC attendees can preview costumes from the upcomingbroadcast on August 31.
Power Rangers $132 Dragonzord Reveal
Hasbro showed a higher level, which CNET unveiled ahead of Thursday’s Boom Studios panel. Part of Hasbro’s Zord Ascension Project line, this Dragonzord can be combined with earlier Megazords from that line in Super Megazord and Battle Mode.
